We’ve created a safe, educational environment to teach shooters how to safely shoot and handle their firearms while fine tuning their shooting skills. We offer a variety of courses for shooters with specific areas of interest, from certification in concealed carry to personal protection classes.
Classes - Virginia Beach
Introductory Handgun
The introduction and foundation to all Freedom Outdoors handgun training. Covering the fundamentals of gun handling and shooting, this basic training meets the requirements to obtain the Virginia Concealed Carry Permit and takes approximately three (3) hours. $179.95*
*Intro Handgun only: The price includes everything needed to begin training: (handgun, magazines, ammo, holster, belt, double mag pouch, eye/ear protection, and targets). You are more than welcome to bring your own eye and ear protection, but both will be provided should you choose not to.
Intermediate Handgun
Introduces engaging targets from various positions, as well as handling reloads, malfunctions, and one handed manipulations. The pre-requisite for this class is our Introductory Handgun Course (CCW), and it runs approximately three (3) hours. $179.95
Gear Requirements: Comfortable clothing & footwear, Handgun, at least two (2) Magazines or Speed Loader, Moon Clip, or Speed Strip for Revolvers (3 preferred), Holster, Magazine Pouch, at least 100 rounds of ammunition (150 rounds preferred), Ear Protection, and Eye Protection
Advanced Handgun
Introduces handling the gun utilizing cover & concealment, shooting on the move, and utilizing the gun under low-light conditions. The pre-requisites for this class are Introductory Handgun and Intermediate Handgun, and it runs approximately three (3) hours. $179.95

Handgun Optics
Handgun Optics – An introduction on how to select and shoot a Red Dot Optic on a handgun. The pre-requisite for this class is our Introductory Handgun Course (CCW). You are more than welcome to bring your own gear. $199.95
Handgun Practice
Is the follow-up training to CCW, Intermediate and Advanced Handgun. By completing the respective courses, this provides students the opportunity to sharpen their skillsets taught in these courses. Each Practice training runs for one (1) hour. $47.00

Intro To Competiton
Our Intro to competition training class is for aspiring competitors. If you would like to compete in pistol matches but don’t know where to start, this is the class for you. Our instructors will walk you through the beginning phases of competitive shooting, from Rules and divisions to gear selection and match prep. We will discuss sanctioning bodies, divisions and classifying events. The second half of the class will allow students to experience classifiers and a mock stage on the range. This class is 3 hours and $179.95. The pre-requisite for this class is our introductory handgun class.
Gear Requirements: Students should come with holsters, mag pouches, pistols, 200 rounds of ammo and eye and ear protection.
Competition Practice
This class is for shooters who want to challenge themselves with competition level training. Participants should have completed our Introductory, Intermediate and Advanced handguns skills courses. We will set up mock stages and scenarios that are commonly found in competitive pistol shooting events. There will be significant movement on the range both holstered and unholstered. Emphasis will be placed on rapid target acquisition and transitions and movement from shooting point to shooting point. All events will be timed and scored. Class is two (2) hours. $125.00
Gear Requirements: Comfortable clothing & Show up with gear from factory to open division and skills from Unclassified and up, 200 rounds of ammunition, Eye & Ear Protection.
Revolver
Covers revolver specific techniques of handling, shooting, and reloading. This training meets the requirements to obtain the Virginia Concealed Carry Permit and takes approximately three (3) hours. $109.95

Introductory Carbine
Will begin with a brief discussion built around comparisons between shooting dynamically and other shooting disciplines; also covering the fundamentals of shooting, and the difference in mindset versus technique. The class will provide professional feedback to shooters to assist in increasing speed, efficiency, and overall shooting capability. The analytical process will involve mount, stance, trigger control, rapid sight acquisition, mindset, and sight management, rapid engagements from ready positions, and recoil control to develop an efficient dynamic carbine shooter. Approximately three (3) hours. $179.95
Gear Requirements: Comfortable clothing & footwear, AR-style Carbine (.223/5.56), at least two (2) Magazines (3 preferred), Sling, Magazine Pouches, Ear Protection, Eye Protection, at least 100 Rounds of Ammunition (150 preferred).
Intermediate Carbine
Focuses on providing students with a skillset of gun manipulations during various types of reloads, transitions, malfunctions, and acquiring targets not in the initial field of view. This training process will develop increased efficiency and the capability to solve problems associated with reloading, transitions from carbine to handgun, determining corrective actions for malfunctions, and engaging outside the initial field of view. Shooters will develop the ability to conduct improvised gun manipulation for solving problems associated to dynamic carbine operation. The pre-requisite for this class is Introductory Carbine Class. This course is approximately two (2) hours. $179.95

Advanced Carbine
Focuses on providing students with a skillset of gun manipulations while shooting utilizing cover& concealment, shooting on the move, and utilizing the carbine in low light. Shooters will develop the ability to conduct improvised gun manipulation for solving problems associated with dynamic carbine operation. The pre-requisite for this class is Introductory Carbine & Intermediate Carbine Class. This course is approximately two (2) hours. $179.95Defensive Shotgun
Will begin with a brief discussion built around comparisons between shooting disciplines and mindset versus technique. This class will cover different types of shotguns and the differences in ammunition. The mount, stance, operation, loading, changeovers, and malfunctions will be discussed in this course. Gear Requirements: Comfortable clothing & footwear, Pump Action or Semi-Auto (Pump Action Preferred), Sling, Pouch or similar to reload from, Ear Protection, Eye Protection, at least 100 Rounds of Ammunition (150 preferred) *SLUGS ONLY.
Concealed Carry Workshop
Concealed carry workshop is a class for people who are interested in learning the basic needs for carrying a handgun concealed on their person. We will cover equipment selection as well as clothing options for concealment. Range exercises will focus on drawing and shooting from a variety of carry positions in concealment as well as re-holstering safely. Class is three (3) hours, $179.95.
The pre-requisite for this class is our Introductory Handgun. Additionally, students should bring their personal equipment for concealed carry i.e., Holsters, Spare magazine holders, 150 rounds of Ammunition, Ear & Eye Protection and a Cover Garment. A cover garment that either buttons down or zips in the front is a good idea to practice drawing from either an open jacket or a pullover type sweatshirt.
